At first glance, the Singing and Twist models may appear similar. But make no mistake! These lights are born of very different inspirations and each offers a unique look when suspended. So who will win the match?
The Singing
Its history
This is one of our historic models developed in 2016. We set out to design a large, light and airy suspension.
Its assertive, no-frills design takes us back to the Streamline and Bauhaus movements of the 20th century. Its look is typically industrial.
The origin of its name
I'm singing in the rain 🎵
As you can imagine, the shape of this model immediately reminded us of an umbrella, with its clean, slightly curved lines.
Summary
The Twist
Its history
Baudelaire's Invitation au voyage has always fascinated us. ‘Luxe, Calme et Volupté’ are reassuring and soothing words. That's where Twist was born, out of a desire for softness and roundness.
Our largest suspension is a Twist, measuring 190cm in diameter. One of the prototypes still hangs from the workshop ceiling.
The origin of its name
Why Twist ? Simply to show off her pretty curl and because :
"Come on, baby
Let's do the twist
Come on, baby
Let's do the twist
Take me by my little hand
And go like this"
