At RIF, our aim is to create lighting that is both stylish and responsible.
As part of this, we have chosen bio-sourced materials to limit waste, we produce in France, we select our suppliers in Europe, we are hunting down plastics...
To measure all this, we call on Eco Impact, an external and independent organisation. It rates the environmental and social impacts of our products, enabling us to move forward and identify our areas for improvement.
LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT (LCA)
The Eco Impact rating is based on the principles of a recognised scientific tool: Life Cycle Assessment.
This makes it possible to assess the impact of the furniture, from the extraction of the raw materials that make it up to its end-of-life, via manufacture and transport.
Eco Impact also takes into account qualitative criteria such as social conditions, sustainability and reparability.

2. Visit our workshop
A team of engineers checks the accuracy of the data and visits the site to verify certain information.
1. Gathering information
Eco Impact audits all production data: a total of 71 criteria are taken into account.
2. Rating and improvement
Eco Impact awards a grade of between A and E to the products it evaluates, and provides us with suggestions on how we can further reduce the impact of our furniture.tO To found out more about methode.

Our products have been awarded A and B grades on an A to E scale.
Our strengths:
- The choice of our raw materials and wood fibre panels with biosourced glue
- Work on transport, thanks to local sourcing and products delivered disassembled and flat-packed
- To the care given to durability, including the availability of spare parts...
But we've also identified a number of areas where we need to work, such as improving support for metal rosettes.
