Circle, our first offset pole

Why create an offset mast ?

One could say that we conducted extensive marketing research to study our customers' needs, that we interviewed them, created numerous colorful charts and graphs... But that would be dishonest (and dishonesty is not nice).

The truth? At the Maison et Objet show in September 2023, we had a problem: our ‘ceiling’ was too small to hang all the products. So why not hang them on the walls?

And as visitors to the show ask us if they can buy our wall brackets for their shop, for their customer, to put above a sofa or to hang a bedside lamp, we've got our ‘proof of concept’ to use a nerd's jargon.

The stages of development

As always, creating a product that we like, meets our criteria (easily transportable, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible), and does not require a degree in advanced DIY to install took us some time.

The first version in September broke after a day's handling, and the second was so strong that it weighed more than our daughter... I'll spare you the other tests and the 1,000 associated drawings.

The current version allows us to support suspensions weighing up to 2 kilos (which is almost all of our range), and is easy to assemble and transport.

We've designed it in 2 diameters to offer solutions for both bedrooms and living rooms.

And its name ?

The choice of ‘Circle’ for a mat that has a round shape is fairly intuitive. But can you recognise the song behind it?

We'll give you a hand :

"It's the circle of life

And it moves us all

Through despair and hope

Through faith and love

Til we find our place

On the path unwinding

In the circle

The circle of life"
